Gustavo Rubio is a marine biologist with a rich background in environmental science and research, currently serving as the Vice President of Science and Research at ECS. With a Master of Science in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Florida International University and a Bachelor of Science in Marine Sciences from the University of Mobile, Gustavo has a solid academic foundation for his work in marine biology. Over the years, he has managed numerous projects for key organizations like the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the U.S. Coast Guard, covering a wide range of topics such as fisheries, protected species, coral reef research and management, environmental compliance, social science, economics, outreach, communications, education, and climate change. Gustavo's management decisions are steered by scientific goals and principles, aiming to enhance ECS's environmental science and research capabilities. Passionate about marine science, he dedicates a significant amount of time to studying and exploring the subject, embodying his connection to the ocean by engaging in activities like surfing, scuba diving, and immersing himself in aquatic environments. Gustavo thrives in challenging scenarios and remains committed to conserving and enhancing the marine ecosystem.
