Professor de Ensino Básico, Técnico e Tecnológico (Substituto) no IFSP - M.Sc. Eng. Mecânico
Gustavo Costa is a versatile professional currently serving as a substitute teacher for basic, technical, and technological education at the Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia de São Paulo (IFSP). His teaching roles cover technical courses in Mechanical Fabrication and Mechanical integrated with high school, as well as undergraduate courses in Control and Automation Engineering (ECA) and Systems Analysis and Development (ADS).
He is pursuing a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas - UNICAMP, specializing in Solid Mechanics and Mechanical Design. Gustavo completed his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Universidade Federal do Maranhão - UFMA in 2018 and holds an interdisciplinary degree in Science and Technology from the same institution. Additionally, he obtained a diploma as a Maintenance and Support Technician in Informatics from the Instituto Federal de Ciência e Tecnologia do Maranhão - IFMA in 2016.
With a strong background in Mechanical Engineering, particularly in Solid Mechanics encompassing Mechanical Vibrations and Computational Mechanics, Gustavo has expertise in the dynamic analysis of continuous structures under varying loads using the Finite Element Method. He has also been involved in projects related to Transport Phenomena such as Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Heat and Mass Transfer, and Combustion.
Furthermore, his current research focuses on the analysis and development of the Multiple Scattering Theory (MST) method for measuring and controlling wave propagation to model periodic structures like Metamaterials and Phononic Crystals, both in healthy models and when influenced by defects.
