Gustav Rydbeck is a high-achieving individual serving as a Partner and the Chief Operating Officer of Equities at Balyasny Asset Management L.P. (BAM), where he contributes significantly to the firm's success.

With a strong educational background, Gustav graduated as the class valedictorian from North Carolina State University with dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. He further pursued his academic journey by obtaining a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, specializing in Signal Processing. Additionally, Gustav holds the prestigious title of CFA Charterholder.

Gustav Rydbeck joined BAM in 2014 as a Managing Director of Performance Analytics. Over the years, he has excelled within the organization, taking on roles such as Global Head of Portfolio Manager and Analyst Development. Noteworthy is his co-founding of BAM's Anthem Equity Portfolio Manager Program, which supports senior analysts in advancing their investment careers.

Before his tenure at BAM, Gustav dedicated nine years of his professional life to Citadel, where he held the position of Quantitative Researcher in Global Equities. At Citadel, he spearheaded the development of various front office equity applications and led a team of researchers focused on risk mitigation and performance enhancement for portfolio managers.

With a profound expertise in the financial domain, especially in equities, Gustav Rydbeck steers multiple front office teams at BAM, including Internal Alpha Capture, Equity Execution, Portfolio Manager Development, Product Management, and Analyst Development. His contributions extend even further as a member of BAM's Investment Committee, where his insights play a pivotal role in the firm's decision-making processes.
