Gus Greivel

Gus Greivel is a Teaching Professor and Interim Department Head in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics (AMS) at the Colorado School of Mines.13 He holds a PhD in Operations Research with Engineering, as well as MS and BS degrees in Mathematical and Computer Sciences, all from the Colorado School of Mines.1

Greivel teaches a wide range of mathematics courses, including various levels of calculus, probability, statistics, and advanced mathematics.1 His research areas include STEM education, scheduling and assignment, operations research, and statistical modeling.1

In addition to his academic work, Greivel has given presentations on topics such as context-rich differential equations, mixed integer-linear programming, and SCALE-UP instructional models.1 He has also contributed to a STEM teacher preparation program and has spoken about "The Importance of Failing (Successfully)" at a TEDx event.1
