Gregory Marks
Gregory Marks has been managing innovation and change in organizations for over 50 years, with 35 years spent at the University of Michigan. He began his career at the Institute for Social Research before joining the University's central administration as Deputy Vice Provost for Information Technology. Gregory later extended initial access to the Internet to K-12 schools statewide and provided professional development for teachers in the use of new technology. For the last decade, he's been involved at Michigan Virtual University, fostering online and blended learning for K-12 students and education professionals. Throughout his career, Gregory has spent most of his time on the human and organizational changes that are integral to such advances in technology.
Gregory's educational background includes graduating from Petoskey High School before studying for his Master of Arts (M.A.) in Mathematical Statistics at the University of Michigan. His work experience includes positions as a change agent, strategic initiatives director, product development director, and consultant at Michigan Virtual University. He was also a program coordinator for NSF ITEST Project (TITIC) at Consultant, Wayne State University, and a consultant at Michigan Department of Education for the State Technology Plan. Gregory worked his way up the ranks at the University of Michigan, from being a programmer to eventually becoming the Deputy Vice Provost for Information Technology. He was also a manager at ICPSR, University of Michigan long ago.
