Greg Cox is a Board Certified transactional oil and gas attorney with extensive experience in upstream and midstream asset, corporate transactions, and commercial agreements within the energy industry.
He has been actively involved in the oil and gas business since 2004, starting as a landman with a small independent company and later as a land negotiator with a leading global energy company.
Greg has provided valuable counsel to clients across all aspects of upstream and midstream activities during his tenure at reputable international law firms like Greenberg Traurig and Locke Lord.
Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board Legal Specialization, he has been recognized for his exceptional work, being named a Rising Star in Energy & Natural Resources Law by Texas Super Lawyers multiple times.
Greg earned his J.D. with honors from South Texas College of Law, where he excelled academically and received prestigious scholarships. He also holds a B.S. in Economics from Texas A&M University.
Currently, Greg is actively contributing to the Oil, Gas and Energy Resources Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, serving on the Council and as Section Report Editor.
He is a key member of the Planning Committees for industry-related events at the University of Texas and TexasBarCLE and has been on the Advisory Board of the Harry L. Reed Oil and Gas Law Institute since 2016.
A published author on various energy legal topics, Greg is licensed to practice law in Texas and North Dakota, as well as before the Supreme Court of the United States.
