Dr. Gregory Albert is a highly skilled and fellowship-trained board-certified pediatric neurosurgeon specialized in clinical care, education, research, and administration. His clinical expertise includes a focus on pediatric epilepsy surgery, Chiari malformation, tethered spinal cord, and traumatic brain injury. He currently practices at a NAEC level IV pediatric epilepsy center where he performs various complex neurosurgical procedures.
In the field of education, Dr. Albert is actively involved in training neurosurgery residents as a faculty member at the university's neurosurgery department. Moreover, he serves as the program director of an ACPNF accredited pediatric neurosurgery fellowship program.
With a strong interest in research, Dr. Albert consistently publishes in peer-reviewed journals and collaborates with national research consortia. He also contributes to the academic community as a reviewer for multiple journals and sits on the editorial board of the Journal of Neurosurgery: Pediatrics.
In the realm of administration, Dr. Albert has held significant leadership positions including Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery and Medical Director of the Main Operating Room. He has a rich educational background having earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD) and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Tufts University School of Medicine, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Chemistry, magna cum laude from Williams College.
Dr. Albert has a notable history of affiliations with prestigious organizations including being the Lee and Bob Cress Endowed Chair in Pediatric Neurosurgery at Arkansas Children's Hospital, and serving in various roles at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, The Hospital for Sick Children, and University of Iowa Health Care.
