Gregorio Pantoja is an accomplished individual who has a strong commitment to education, community service, and entrepreneurship.
As an alumnus of Southwestern College, Gregorio has actively contributed to the educational landscape by significantly expanding Mexican American Studies courses and fostering collaborations with the Sweetwater Union High School District.
His pivotal role in establishing the first Ethnic Studies tenure position at Southwestern College exemplifies his dedication to promoting diversity and inclusivity.
Gregorio is the founder of the Mexican American Studies Scholars student organization and the organizer of the prestigious MAS Cinco de Mayo event at SWC.
With a Master's Degree in Chicana & Chicano Studies from San Diego State University, Gregorio delved into gender and transgender theory, focusing on challenging conventional patriarchal norms.
His academic pursuits reflect a passion for promoting critical thinking and mentorship to enhance student success both in and out of the classroom.
Beyond academia, Gregorio's entrepreneurial spirit shone through his successful leadership in expanding restaurant chains from La Jolla to San Francisco and transforming a Normal Heights cafe into a prominent player in downtown San Diego with multiple locations.
