Greg Strong brings over 20 years of environmental management experience to his current role as the Director of the Northeast District at the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. With a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University, a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law, and a Masters of Business Administration from the M.I.T. Sloan School of Management, Greg is well-equipped to manage the implementation of environmental laws and regulations, the issuance of environmental permits, and the performance of compliance and enforcement activities within the District's 19 counties.

Greg’s experience extends beyond his current role as he previously served as the Manager of Regulatory Affairs for a global specialty chemical manufacturer where he managed corporate regulatory compliance programs. At the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Greg implemented a comprehensive continuous improvement program using Lean management tools which helped generate cost savings and earned 40 Davis Productivity Awards from 2009 through 2015. He also played a key role in leading a diverse group of stakeholders to develop and implement a long-term, $600 million action plan to improve and restore the health of the St. Johns River, demonstrating his expertise in stakeholder management and environmental policy.
