Greg Arkus is a seasoned banking professional with more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Currently, he holds a pivotal role at ING where he oversees various aspects of the financial institutions business such as relationship management, corporate finance, capital structuring, and advisory services for industries like insurance and investment management.
Within ING, Greg Arkus plays a significant role on the management committee of the UK branch, leading a team of approximately 800 employees. His responsibilities include managing the business and addressing a wide array of topics impacting the branch, such as innovation, sustainability, Brexit, and general management issues. Additionally, he spearheads the sustainability efforts in London and chairs the Sustainability in Action Group.
During his tenure in Debt Capital Markets, Greg played a crucial role in the fixed income division, collaborating closely with investment banking on projects involving debt and equity financing. He possesses a comprehensive understanding of credit criteria and balance sheet management, having directly engaged with financial institutions, corporates, and public sector clients. Greg's experience extends to team management, including risk management responsibilities for a segment of the bank's balance sheet at Credit Suisse. He has actively participated in management committee meetings and was involved in the promotion process within Credit Suisse Group, serving as an Evaluator in the Managing Directors' Evaluation Committee for two years.
Educationally, Greg holds a degree in BA Hons Politics and Modern History from The University of Manchester. He also completed his A Levels at Saint Paul's School.
