Greg Vital is a prominent American businessman and Republican politician serving as the State Representative for Tennessee's 29th District. He was born on January 27, 1956, and has been a resident of the Ooltewah-Georgetown area since the early 1970s. Political Career
Vital was elected to the Tennessee House of Representatives in a special election held on September 14, 2021, following the death of the previous representative, Mike Carter. In that election, he secured 3,884 votes against his Democratic opponent, DeAngelo Jelks, who received 964 votes.14 During his tenure, Vital has been involved in significant legislative actions, including supporting a controversial resolution in 2023 that led to the expulsion of three Democratic lawmakers from the legislature.1

In addition to his political role, Greg Vital has served on the Collegedale city commission and has been recognized for his contributions to the community and the Republican Party.
