Grace Chng

Grace Chng is a prominent journalist and Senior Correspondent at The Straits Times, specializing in technology and digital transformation. She has a rich history in the field, having served as a key tech writer for the publication from the 1990s through the 2010s. During her tenure, she co-founded and edited Computer Times, which was later renamed Digital Life, establishing it as a leading IT magazine in Singapore.23

Chng has extensive experience covering the evolution of Singapore's information and communication technology (ICT) landscape, as well as global tech developments. She has reported on significant events and innovations, interviewing notable figures in the tech industry, including Steve Jobs and Larry Ellison. Her work has contributed to a deeper understanding of the intersection between technology, media, and society.23

In addition to her role at The Straits Times, Grace Chng is a Contributing Editor for Techgoondu, a tech portal, and has authored several books documenting Singapore's tech journey, including Intelligent Island: The Untold Story of Singapore’s Tech Journey and Zero to Thirty, which chronicles the country's advancements in supercomputing.234 She holds an MBA from the National University of Singapore and is actively involved in promoting women in technology through various initiatives.12
