Gordon Christie
Senior Engineer at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory
Gordon Christie is a highly accomplished individual who obtained his PhD in Computer Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2016. Currently, he serves as a Senior Engineer at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, focusing on research areas related to computer vision and machine learning for imagery taken by airborne and spaceborne systems. During his doctoral studies, Gordon was actively involved with the Unmanned Systems Lab at Virginia Tech. He has a strong educational background, having also completed his Master of Science in Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech and his Bachelor of Science in the same field at West Virginia University. Gordon has previous experience serving as a Visiting Researcher at the U.S. Army Research Laboratory and as a Graduate Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at both Virginia Tech and West Virginia University. Additionally, he gained valuable industry experience as an Intern at the WVHTC Foundation.
