Godson Ugochukwu FCIArb. is a prominent Nigerian legal practitioner and business leader. He was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors at Guinea Insurance PLC on March 23, 2016.3 Ugochukwu is the founding and Managing Partner of Fortress Solicitors, a law firm with its head office in Lagos, Nigeria.12

As a legal professional, Ugochukwu has nearly two decades of experience in international arbitration and alternative dispute resolution (ADR).1 He was elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) on November 28, 2022.2 Ugochukwu is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and heads the Dispute Resolution practice at his firm.12

Ugochukwu's expertise spans various areas of law, including corporate, commercial, insolvency, information technology, oil & gas, admiralty, aviation, taxation, banking, and criminal law.2 He has been involved in advising on foreign investments in Nigeria and frequently appears before various courts, including the Supreme Court.2

In addition to his legal career, Ugochukwu serves on the boards of several companies across different sectors of the economy.2 Guinea Insurance PLC, where he is the Chairman, is a public-quoted Nigerian insurance company with over sixty years of presence in the country.2
