Gia Machlin is the President and CEO of EcoPlum, Inc., a company she founded in 2007 with a mission to promote sustainability and conscious consumerism. EcoPlum specializes in providing eco-friendly promotional products and branded marketing solutions, particularly through its Sustainable Swag® line, which helps businesses and organizations align their marketing efforts with sustainable practices.14
Background and Education: Machlin holds an MBA with honors from Columbia Business School and a BS with honors from the Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Science. Before establishing EcoPlum, she had a successful career in various roles, including President of MMC 20/20 Systems, Inc., and co-founder of Plan Data Management, Inc. (PDM), which was acquired by a public company in 2006. Her experience also includes management consulting at Deloitte & Touche and sales roles at Unisys and AT&T.124
Achievements and Affiliations: Under Machlin's leadership, EcoPlum has been recognized as a Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC)-certified business and has received Green America "Gold" approval. Machlin has been featured in numerous business publications and media outlets, including ForbesBooks Radio and Inc. Magazine, and she was honored as an Enterprising Woman of the Year in 2020.124 Additionally, she serves as Board President for Blue Card, Inc., which aids Holocaust survivors in need.13
Community Involvement: Beyond her professional endeavors, Machlin has been actively involved in community service, particularly in New York City public schools, where she volunteered for over 14 years. She is also a founding member of the Columbia Business School Alumni Club’s Sustainable Business Committee.124
