Gerro Prinsloo

Gerro Prinsloo is a Mechatronic Engineer with a focus on intelligent cyber-physical systems, design & control optimization, renewable energy integration, and smart energy systems. He has a strong background in data analysis, project management, multidisciplinary research & development, computer modeling, and technology innovation.

He values teamwork and thrives in high-pressure environments. Gerro is passionate about coaching and competing in high-performance team sports, where he applies business and engineering principles for success. He enjoys teaching and fostering bold, creative thinking. His interests span artificial intelligence, cyber-security practices, problem-solving, workflow optimization, techno innovation, and systems engineering.

Gerro's software expertise includes Python, Matlab, C/C++, RT-Lab, Siemens TIA Portal, Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD, SolidWorks, TrnSys, VMware & VirtualBox, and Q-GIS.

He holds a PhD in Intelligent energy management and smart energy systems, a Master's in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering, and a Bachelor's in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering. He also pursued Professional Continuing Education in Microgrid.

Formerly, Gerro served as an Assistant Professor at The University of New Mexico, Solar Sales Manager at Vivint Solar, Systems engineer, Software architect & lead researcher at Stellenbosch University and The University of New Mexico, Mechatronic design engineer, Systems integration specialist, Data analyst & lead researcher at University of Stellenbosch, Mechatronic design engineer at Stellenbosch University, and had various engineering internships.
