Gerhard Romen is an experienced and accomplished entrepreneur, with a track record of driving innovation from its infancy to penetration in international markets. His expertise in sales, marketing, and business development has helped numerous start-ups make the leap into mainstream markets. His areas of specialty include software development, mobile financial services, Near-Field Communication (NFC), and Internet of Things (IoT) technology.

Gerhard has held numerous leadership positions throughout his career. Most recently, he is the Founder and Managing Director of GWR Consult, a consulting firm through which he continues to help start-ups and small businesses establish themselves in the global market. Prior to this, he was Vorstand at Arbeiterwohlfahrt Kreisverband Frankfurt e.V. - AWO. Additionally, he served as Senior Vice-President Sales and Business Development at Casambi Technologies, and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Mobile Financial Services at Millicom International Cellular (Tigo).

Gerhard's impressive background includes serving as Director, Mobile Financial Services at Nokia and heading up Nokia's NFC Market Development division. Prior to that, he held positions as Head of Sales and Marketing and VP CEMEA at Borland and was VP Central Europe at Sybase, leading the charge in Softswitches at Systems & Telecoms.
