Gerard Smith

Gerard Smith is an accomplished award-winning design leader specializing in apparel design with over 15 years of experience in outdoor and sportswear. He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Fashion and his Master of Arts in Performance Sportswear Design from Middlesex University and the University of Derby, respectively. Gerard is an innovative and disruptively thinking designer, rooted in design strategies, consumer insights, and brand aesthetic, recognized for effective leadership, collaborative working style, and transitioning design concepts into action. He is complemented by his strength in ideation, strategic foresight, individualization, and being a relator. Gerard has held various crucial positions in leading companies like Columbia Sportswear, Icebreaker Nature Clothing, and Berghaus Ltd. Notably, he has been a Council Member and Design Consultant at GLG and an Industry Advisory Board member at the University of Oregon.
