Gerald Buxton

Gerald Buxton is a highly accomplished professional with a strong background in applied physics and optical materials and devices.

He holds a Master's Degree in Applied Physics-Optical Materials and Devices as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Physics with Departmental Honors, both from the University of Oregon.

Gerald has a wealth of experience in the optical industry, having served in various roles at Digilens Inc. including Optical Production Manager, Senior Optical Systems Engineer, and Optical Engineer.

Prior to his time at Digilens Inc., he worked as a Product Engineer at Intel, gaining valuable insights and expertise in the industry.

Apart from his corporate roles, Gerald has also been actively involved in coaching and educational activities, having served as an Assistant Coach at Lincoln High School, Staff Coach at FC Portland Academy, and Head Coach/Player at UO Men's Club Soccer.

His early career involved roles as an Electro-Optical Engineer at Digilens/SBG Labs, Student Researcher at Dr. Dean Livelybrooks Geophysics Research Group, and Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Oregon.

Gerald Buxton's diverse experiences also include being a Student Researcher at Astronomical Spectroscopy Research and a member of the Men's Soccer Team at the University of Portland.

With a strong educational foundation, extensive industry expertise, and a passion for coaching and mentoring, Gerald Buxton continues to make significant contributions in the fields of applied physics, optical engineering, and education.
