Georgios Depastas is a data privacy entrepreneur and fintech product enthusiast who aspires to revolutionize the way enterprises derive value from their big data in a secure manner. With an MEng in Electrical and Computer Engineering, an MPhil in Industrial Systems, Manufacture and Management from the University of Cambridge, and an Associate's Certificate in Journalism (Sports), Depastas has a diversified academic background that complements his various professional roles.
Depastas co-founded Lerna AI, where he currently serves as CEO, leveraging his expertise in data privacy to create tools that allow businesses to extract insights from their data while maintaining compliance. He also co-founded BORNiO (formerly Kalepso), securing funding to develop a technology that enables companies to extract data from their datalakes with a patent-pending solution. Additionally, Depastas served as Entrepreneur In Residence at TandemLaunch Inc., a member of Founders of the Future, and co-founder and CEO of Saving Mates at Entrepreneur First.
At Barclays, Depastas served in various product management roles, including Head of Product for Real-Time Big Data Analytics and AVP Product Manager, where he was instrumental in launching a real-time big data analytics product that earned two I-COM Global Data Creativity Awards. He also completed the Future Leaders Development Programme in Innovation Strategy and Digital Customer Experience at Barclays UK.
Depastas is passionate about the intersection between data technology and user experience, and, as a journalist and columnist for "Goalnews" and "sentragoal.gr," he became adept at communicating complex ideas to a broad audience.
