Georgia Oakley

Georgia Oakley is a final year PhD student with a focus on data analysis, data science, and business strategy. Her research at the University of Bristol involves the design of membrane pore proteins under the supervision of Professor D. Woolfson. She anticipates completing her PhD in Synthetic Biology in June 2021, after facing disruptions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Georgia holds a BSc in Biological Sciences with an industrial placement from Durham University, where she excelled as the Club Captain of the Women's Association Football Club. During her industrial placement at RenaSci Ltd, she delved into investigating drug abuse liability in novel CNS-active drug candidates. Additionally, she gained research experience at the University of Birmingham, exploring the genetics of Alzheimer's disease. Georgia has also contributed her skills as a Data Analyst at Oodle Car Finance and held roles such as Events Director at Bristol Consulting Society and PhD to Consulting at Spin Up Science.
