Art
George Merck is a distinguished art collector and film producer based in Palm Beach. He serves as a member of the Board of Trustees at The Smithsonian’s Archives of American Art and holds the position of Chair of The SAAA gala subcommittee. In 2018, George Merck became a partner in ROD30 Films and produced his debut film, Giants Being Lonely, in 2019. This film premiered at the exclusive 76th Venice Film Festival and was in contention for the prestigious Orizzonti Prize. George Merck's art collection is renowned for its focus on West Coast minimalism, particularly featuring works from the California Light and Space movement. Apart from his artistic endeavors, George Merck has a background in economics, having studied for his BS degree at Southern Methodist University.
