    George Atwood

George Atwood is the Senior Director of Gift Investment and Administration at Yale University. He manages Yale's Life Income Program, which includes overseeing the administration of approximately 1,000 charitable gift annuity contracts, 370 pooled income fund accounts, and over 140 charitable remainder trusts for which Yale serves as trustee.1 Atwood joined Yale in 1988 and has played a key role in the university's highly successful charitable trust program.1

Atwood's educational background includes a B.A. in economics from Tufts University and an MBA from Yale School of Management. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.1 In his role, Atwood works closely with the Office of Planned Giving and interacts daily with Yale's most generous and enthusiastic supporters.1

Under Atwood's management, Yale's charitable trusts are invested using strategies similar to those employed by the Yale Investments Office in managing the university's endowment. This approach has historically resulted in very good performance for the trusts.1
