GEOFFREY MWAKANYU

Geoffrey Mwakanyu is an accomplished operations management professional with extensive experience in the freight and shipping industry. With a diploma in Port Operations, Clearance, and Transportation of Goods from the Kenya Revenue Authority Training Institute, Geoffrey has a wealth of knowledge in EACCM Act and Shipping Procedures. He also has a Certificate in Freight Management from the Kenya Institute of Freight Management.

Geoffrey served as the Operations Manager at Focus Initiative - Imp. & Exp. Co. Ltd. from February 2007 to August 2016, where he had significant responsibilities that included import/export operations management and transport management. He segued to Timex Shipping Company Ltd on September 1st, 2016, where he worked as the Operations Manager until he was promoted to Managing Director, a position he currently holds.

In both firms, his tasks ranged from overseeeing import/export freight operations, negotiating contracts with carriers, liaising with customs authorities, and ensuring efficient customs clearance to managing the supply chain to minimize inventory costs, among other things.

Under his leadership, Timex Shipping Company has expanded regionally and has gained a reputation as a trusted and reliable shipping firm.
