Genesis Robinson
Congressional Legislative Assistant
Genesis Robinson is a political strategist and community organizer with over a decade of experience in government and advocacy work.1 While he previously served as a Legislative Assistant in the United States House of Representatives during the 113th and 114th Congress1, he is not currently employed as a Legislative Assistant III at the Florida House of Representatives.
Current Role
Genesis Robinson currently serves as the Interim Executive Director of Equal Ground Education Fund and Action Fund, which is described as "Florida's preeminent Black-led voting rights organization".12
Background and Experience
- He is an alumnus of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU), where he studied Political Science and Public Administration.14
- After his time in the U.S. House of Representatives, Robinson held various positions throughout Florida.1
- In 2018, while working in the Florida Legislature, he assisted in passing legislation to select Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune to represent Florida in the National Statuary Hall Collection.1
- In 2021, Robinson joined Equal Ground, initially managing operations in Volusia County before being promoted to Political Director.1

In his role at Equal Ground, Robinson:
- Leads statewide tours to educate citizens about voting rights and legislative changes.2
- Addresses issues of voter suppression and works to increase civic engagement through voter education.2
- Challenges what the organization views as unconstitutional redistricting maps that affect Black voter representation.3
Robinson is known for his expertise in Florida politics and his advocacy for voting rights, particularly for Black Floridians.23
