Gene Saunders has an extensive background in law enforcement, having served 33 years with the Chesapeake Police Department in various capacities such as Patrol, Vice, Narcotics, Detectives, and Training. He co-founded the Special Weapons and Tactics team and led over 800 operations during his 23-year tenure. Additionally, he was a Chief Investigator on major drug and organized crime cases, played a key role in the Olympic Security Team during the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, and retired in 2001 as a Captain from the police department.
