Gayani Samaraweera

Gayani Samaraweera is a highly skilled software engineer and researcher with a strong academic background. She has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from The University of Texas at San Antonio, as well as a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Computer Science, Statistics, and Physics from the University of Peradeniya. She has experience in designing and developing web applications, networking applications, and data management applications, as well as working with large-scale Telco software solutions.

Gayani has also spent over four years conducting research in the field of Virtual Reality, focusing on developing virtual rehabilitation techniques for gait rehabilitation of users with mobility impairments. She has collaborated on several projects aimed at improving and developing new virtual rehabilitation techniques. In addition, Gayani has also worked as a former Post Doctoral Fellow, Graduate Research Assistant, and Graduate Teaching Assistant at The University of Texas at San Antonio.

Currently, Gayani works as a Software Development Engineer at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where she applies her strong programming skills to design and develop software applications. Her expertise in computer science and her academic background has provided her with the necessary tools to make her an excellent software engineer. Gayani's vast experience and knowledge in software engineering and virtual reality makes her a valuable asset to any organization.
