Gavin Nelson is an accomplished product designer with a diverse background spanning education and entrepreneurship. After earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Science, Technology, and Society with a minor in Symbolic Systems at Stanford University, he gained experience as a design and marketing intern at The Stanford Daily Newspaper, a sailing and waterskiing instructor at Stanford Sierra Camp, and a co-founder and producer of Amor Science. Nelson honed his design skills at Fitbod and wikiHow before joining GitHub as a product designer. He is also a former owner of the Short and Sweet Cupcake Truck and published children's book author and illustrator with Scholastic Books/Sparrow Press.
Nelson's breadth of experience demonstrates his adaptability and enthusiasm for new challenges, which he brings to his work in product design. With expertise in icon design, he is a valued member of the GitHub team, where he helps to create polished and user-friendly products.
