Gavin Finlayson

Gavin Finlayson is a seasoned lawyer with a wide-ranging advocacy and advisory practice specializing in complex commercial litigation, insolvency, restructuring, and class actions.

With extensive experience representing clients before various Canadian courts, administrative bodies, and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Gavin has played pivotal roles in numerous high-profile restructurings and class actions.

He possesses a special interest in multi-jurisdictional proceedings and has developed expertise in handling diverse clients from industries such as bondholders, biotech companies, and the legal cannabis sector.

Gavin Finlayson holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from The University of British Columbia, is a Fellow at the International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Professionals (INSOL), and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) with Honours from Queen's University.

Currently serving as a Partner at Bennett Jones LLP, he brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles as an Associate at Bennett Jones LLP and Norton Rose Fulbright (formerly Ogilvy Renault).
