Gary Heath

Gary Heath is a law enforcement professional with extensive experience in tactical operations and training. He served as a SWAT Training Unit member at the Houston Police Department from March 2020 to August 2021.1 His responsibilities included conducting and facilitating tactical and firearms training for the HPD SWAT team and other divisions, as well as outside agencies.1

Heath has been a certified peace officer with the Houston Police Department since 1992, accumulating over 29 years of experience in various roles.1 His career progression includes:

1. 3 years on night shift patrol
2. 5 years on a Division Tactical Unit
3. 18 years assigned to the SWAT Detail full-time

As an Entry Team Leader from February 2004 to March 2020, Heath planned and conducted high-risk operations and special threat situations.1 He is a Master Peace Officer, TCOLE Instructor, and Firearms Instructor, holding numerous certifications in specialized areas such as Shotgun Breaching, Active Shooter response, and Less Lethal Munitions.1

Currently, Gary Heath works as a Sales Representative for TYR Tactical, a position he has held since July 2021.1 In this role, he serves as the Law Enforcement Sales Representative for the Central United States.1

Heath has also been actively involved with the Texas Tactical Police Officers Association (TTPOA) since 2001, serving in various leadership positions including Treasurer, Director of Operations, Vice President, and President.1
