Mr. Romaine has held a variety of positions in his professional career, including technical writer, information design manager, and English instructor. He is also an accomplished author and has written several books on topics ranging from geology to video games.

Mr. Romaine has been involved with many organizations throughout his career, including the Globe Pequot Press, the Rice Northwest Museum of Rocks and Minerals, and the Society for Technical Communication. He has also worked as a technical support manager, associate editor, and senior columnist. In addition to his professional pursuits, Mr. Romaine is passionate about the great outdoors and is an avid gold prospector and geologist.
