His career began at ESSCO Wholesale Electric, which later merged with Independent Electric Supply after being acquired by Sonepar USA. Starting from Outside Sales roles, he spearheaded the establishment of a low voltage business segment and led the creation of a renewable energy solutions group within the organization. Prior to ESSCO, he had stints at General Electric and Honeywell Industrial divisions, also co-founding LOGOS Technology, Inc. in 1995, which provided energy management software, SCADA solutions, and technology to various industries before being acquired by General Electric.
