Ganesh Sundar
Ph.D Candidate at University of Maryland College Park
Ganesh Sundar is a seasoned microbiologist with over eight years of lab experience, focusing on understanding host-pathogen interactions to better combat current epidemics around the world. Ganesh's career began in eukaryotic systems, exploring mechanisms of gene regulation and cell division. Later, he shifted his attention to studying mechanisms pathogens use to survive in humans. With his work being recognized in the form of publications and presentations, as well as developing new analysis tools and experimental procedures previously unavailable in his graduate lab, Ganesh is a valuable asset to any lab he works with. He has worked in diverse environments, including federal (NIH), hospital (INOVA-fairfax), and academic (UMD, WM) associated labs, and can work well with a wide range of people. Ganesh holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Maryland College Park and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from William & Mary. Additionally, he has held various positions and internships, including Student Researcher at Howard Hughes Medical Institute Freshman Research Program, Teaching Assistant at University of Maryland, and Shadow at Georgetown Hospital, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
