Galen Smith is a seasoned executive in the entertainment and technology sectors, currently serving as the Executive Vice Chairman at Redbox Entertainment Inc. He held this position from 2022 to 2023, following a successful tenure as the Chief Executive Officer from 2016 to 2022. Smith's career at Redbox began earlier when he served as the Senior Vice President of Finance from 2011 to 2013 and as Chief Financial Officer of Outerwall, the parent company of Redbox, Coinstar, and ecoATM, from 2013 to 2016.1
His background also includes experience in investment banking as an Investment Banking Associate at Morgan Stanley, where he focused on consumer and retail sectors from 2007 to 2009. Smith has demonstrated strong leadership skills across various roles in both public and private companies, contributing significantly to corporate finance and strategic development.1
In addition to his role at Redbox, he is also involved in other capacities, such as being a public board member and audit committee chair for Disruptive Acquisition Corp. since March 2021.1
