Gale Starich
Dean of the Sidney O. Smith Gradaute School and College of Health & Science at Brenau University
Gale Hansen Starich, Ph.D., is a prominent academic leader at Brenau University, where she serves as the Dean of the Ivester College of Health Sciences and the Sidney O. Smith Jr. Graduate School. She has been with Brenau University since 2002, overseeing significant growth in the Ivester College of Health Sciences, which now offers 14 degrees, including a new degree in exercise science.1 Under her leadership, the Mary Inez Grindle School of Nursing experienced substantial expansion.1
Before joining Brenau University, Dr. Starich held various positions at the University of Nevada School of Medicine, including associate professor roles in the departments of internal medicine and physiology and cell biology, as well as director of student research for the university’s M.D. and Ph.D. programs.1 She holds a Ph.D. in biochemistry, a Master of Science in zoology, and a bachelor's degree in pre-medicine from the University of Nevada, Reno.1
