Gabrielle Roberts is a multifaceted professional in the field of virtual production, blending expertise in computer science and filmmaking. She worked as a Realtime Engineer at Brud, a startup where she contributed to pioneering the virtual human industry and the creation of Miquela, a virtual influencer.12 Roberts has also worked with Oscar-winning filmmakers and served as the main virtual production operator and technical artist for one of Netflix's most expensive productions, the live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender.1
Roberts is an alumna with a B.A. in Film & Television Production and a B.S. in Computer Science.5 She founded the international nonprofit Code Your Chances, for which she received the Diana Award, the most prestigious award for humanitarian work for individuals under 25.12 Currently, Roberts is a Schwarzman Scholar and is collaborating with companies across China to develop their virtual production capabilities.14
In addition to her work in the industry, Roberts is an Adjunct Professor at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, where she teaches an advanced graduate course in virtual production.3 Her diverse experience includes roles at Warner Bros. Entertainment and Leo Burnett, showcasing her ability to bridge technical and creative aspects of the entertainment industry.
