    Gabrielle Motilal is a proud Materials Engineer with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and a minor in Materials Science from the University of the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago.

    During her academic journey at UWI, Gabrielle received the STAR Scholarship and also excelled in a Japanese language and culture program at Sophia University. She won the first place prize in the Elementary Level Japanese Speech contest.

    Gabrielle was elected for a prestigious 3-month summer internship at NASA Ames Research Center by The National Institute of Higher Education, Research, Science, and Technology (NIHERST). There, she conducted research in Additive Manufacturing (AM), Nanotechnology, and Sensors with a focus on Mars Exploration and Nanotechnology.

    Gabrielle's diverse experiences have instilled in her the values of hard work, persistence, and the importance of continual growth. Her dream is to launch her career in Materials Science Engineering, actively participate in the climate change movement, and make significant contributions to her country.

    Having served in various roles from Physics Teacher to President of the UWI StarGazers, Gabrielle is passionate about STEM education, research, and making a positive impact in her community and beyond.
