In my role as Chairman of the SAS EMEA & APAC Insurance board I am responsible for leading the board work for Insurance go to market strategy, in collaboration with members from over 20 countries represented, which includes
-	Research of market trends, investment patterns as well as analysis of emerging trends driving insurance

Validus Engineering is the leading Nordic distributor of CFdesign, the Up-Front CFD solution from Blue Ridge Numeric’s. Further to this Validus has a solid services competence in structural mechanics, modal analysis, crash test and other simulation areas.

My objective was to grow a new market for CFdesign via software sales and consultancy projects in Sweden and Finland. I was also deeply involved with optimization services projects. This included both single-objective and multi-objective optimization aimed at process and test heavy processes within the manufacturing sector. 

To succeed with these objectives it was essential to be able to articulate a value proposition approach for customers including the planning and assessment of project implementations.

Research of potential Nordic market for Multi-Objective Optimization tool

Detailed mapping and assessment of potential market segments in the Nordics for a Multi-Objective Optimization tool. Contents, conclusions and reports subject to NDA.

Included in the project were:
- Identification of market segments in the Nordics outside automotive
- Identification of academic institutes involved in research within those segments
- Maturity assessment of those segments
- Research into process oriented real-time verticals and the challenges specific to this area
- Interviews with 8 companies in the targeted verticals
- Identification of 3 specific test projects that represented the challenges identified in the segments
- Project management
- Reports with conclusions and statistics every 3 month to Head of Business Development Europe and   Members of the Board

My position at Avalon consists of solution selling within PLM/PDM (PTC portfolio, ProE and Windchill). The actual software sales are also accompanied by the need of consultancy services such as implementation, customized applications, methods around use etc. During the pre-sales process as well as after I am responsible for analyzing the needs and pro-actively suggest solutions to the customers specific needs in the product development process.

As Avalon has a reseller partnership with the provider of the PLM/PDM solution as well as other software companies, part of my time is also spent developing those relationships for mutual benefits. This also includes some marketing related actions.

Creating new markets in Europe for engineering multiphysics software, COMSOL Multiphysics (FEMLAB)
COMSOL (Italy, Belgium, The Netherlands, France).I was responsible for developing sales and relations with customers of COMSOL. I mainly focus on 2 sales processes. The first one is a solution based new customer process. This process is based on identifying the need for complex engineering solutions in research and development departments. The second process is to maintain and develop existing customers. Apart from regular customer visits I also work with arranging symposiums, seminars in cooperation with local users. Part of my work is also to create press coverage to strengthen both the role of COMSOL as well as our user’s roles locally. As the product we develop and sell solves complex engineering needs my sales target is usually found in production or research units and therefore trade press is very important.

I started up and ran an internal marketing agency offering to increase the number of existing subscribers to both internal & external magazines connected to the company. The job included copywrite, artwork as well as selling and negotiating deals around large scale printing, postage, packaging etc.
