Gabriela Pereira

Gabriela Pereira is the founder and Instigator of DIY MFA, a do-it-yourself alternative to a Masters degree in writing. With a goal to challenge the status quo of higher education, she empowers writers, designers, and artists at various stages of their careers to take an entrepreneurial path to learning and professional growth. Gabriela studied for an MFA in Writing for Children at The New School and later received a Certificate in Graphic Design from Parsons School of Design. She also holds an MA in Human Development from Cornell University and a BA in English and Psychology from Williams College. Gabriela has worked as a Workshop Teacher at 826NYC/Brooklyn Superhero Supply Company, an Intern at Folio Literary Management, and a Product Manager at ALEX Toys. She has also served as a Head Teaching Assistant at Cornell University.
