Gabriel Mountjoy is the Co-Founder of Common Fibers, a company he established in 2013 alongside his wife, Ann Mountjoy. Based in Seattle, Washington, he is a graduate of California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2012. His academic background has fueled his passion for product design and innovation in manufacturing processes.1

At Common Fibers, Gabriel has played a pivotal role in developing composite products across various industries, including automotive, aerospace, medical, and consumer goods. The company is known for its innovative carbon fiber live hinge technology, which has led to the creation of lightweight products such as wallets and wheelchair ramps. Under his leadership, Common Fibers has secured two patents and aims to disrupt the composites industry through simpler and more cost-effective manufacturing methods.1

Prior to founding Common Fibers, Gabriel gained valuable experience as a mechanical engineer at Wolfpack Gear Inc., where he was involved in product design and development for firefighting equipment. He also held several internships that provided him with hands-on experience in engineering and manufacturing processes.1
