Friso Huizinga

Friso Huizinga is the Managing Director of LC Energy, a company established in 2017 that focuses on developing sustainable energy solutions, particularly in battery energy storage systems (BESS) and solar photovoltaic (PV) projects. In late 2024, Huizinga transitioned to the role of Chief Development Officer at S4 Energy following the acquisition of LC Energy Grid Services (LCEGS) by S4 Energy. This acquisition aims to leverage LCEGS's extensive development capabilities alongside S4 Energy's resources to enhance their position in the European battery energy storage market.1 Huizinga expressed enthusiasm about this merger, highlighting the potential for rapid scaling in the Dutch market due to the combined expertise of both companies.1

Before his tenure at LC Energy, Huizinga was involved in various aspects of project management and development within the energy sector. His strategic vision and commitment to sustainable energy solutions have been pivotal in advancing LC Energy's projects, including a notable 500 MW/2000 MWh BESS project in Groningen, which is set to be one of the largest in the Netherlands.23
