I mostly worked in the Global Infrastructure Advisory group within Transactions & Restructuring. That group provides commercial and financial advice for the planning and development of large-scale infrastructure projects (e.g., roads and rail, universities, courthouses, etc.)

My role was primarily financial analysis, building and using excel-based models to study cash flow and structure financial facilities. I also saw a number of procurements and the commercial close of the first road P3 in California.

The road and rail projects I saw had capital costs in the $1bln - $10 bln range, with the exception of the California High Speed Rail project, which is currently estimated to be around $98 bln.

Prior to June 2010, I was working for KPMG in Chicago as part of their Transaction Services group. There, I assisted in buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence behind large business transactions for private equity and strategic corporate parties.
