Franziska Bell, PhD

Franziska Bell is a technology leader renowned for driving positive impact at scale and fostering the growth of individuals. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Theoretical Chemistry focusing on High-Performance Computing + Applied Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley. Additionally, she obtained an MChem in Chemistry (Honours) specializing in Theoretical Chemistry, which intersects with computer science and applied mathematics, from the University of York. Her academic journey commenced at Musisches Gymnasium, BGIII, where she pursued High School literature.

Throughout her illustrious career, Franziska held several prominent roles in esteemed organizations. She served as an Advisor at Curio, a Digital Advisory Council Member, CTO & SVP Digital Technology, VP of Software and Platform Engineering, VP of Data & Analytics, and Distinguished Advisor for Data Science and AI at bp. Her impactful contributions were also witnessed during her tenure as the Senior Director at the Toyota Research Institute and as an Advisor at UserTesting. Franziska's expertise shines through her various roles at Uber, where she excelled as a Director and Senior Data Science Manager in Data Science Platforms, a Tech Lead in Intelligent Decision Systems and an Infrastructure Specialist, as well as a Data Scientist in Algorithmic Insights.

Franziska Bell's professional journey commenced as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the California Institute of Technology and a Graduate Research Assistant at UC Berkeley, where she also served as a Graduate Student Instructor. She honed her skills and expertise during her time as an Invited Summer Undergraduate Researcher in Computational Chemistry at the University of Oxford and gained valuable experience through an Invited Summer Internship at Pfizer.
