Section Leader, Digital Composition at Austin Community College

In June 2023, Francis was promoted to the role of Section Leader, Digital Composition at Austin Community College. In this position, he coordinates and aligns electronic production rubrics across all faculty, oversees the development of updated curricula, and serves as a liaison and strategist for school relations with software initiatives.2

Adjunct Professor at Austin Community College

Since September 1996, Francis has been an Adjunct Professor at Austin Community College. He has designed curriculum and rubrics for multiple classes added to the Texas WECM catalogue for deployment within the statewide community college system. Courses he has taught include Audio Engineering 1, Digital Composition (MIDI), Synthesis 1 and 2, Sound Design, and Remixing.1

Founder and Principal of Symplesound

Francis is the Founder and Principal of Symplesound, a company that provides sound design, preset development, UI/UX design, and product consulting services. He has designed presets and provided consulting for leading audio brands such as Ableton, Dave Smith Instruments, Google, and many others.1
