Fleming Shi

Fleming Shi is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Nitel, a leading provider of network as a service (NaaS). In his role, he is responsible for developing innovative technology solutions that enhance Nitel's capabilities in connecting people and data. His work focuses on leveraging generative AI to improve business connectivity, secure environments, and proactively address potential issues before they affect operations.13

Before joining Nitel in March 2023, Shi had a distinguished career at Barracuda Networks, where he served as CTO and played a crucial role in transforming the company into a leader in networking, security, and data protection. His tenure at Barracuda included launching their first web security product line and overseeing various engineering projects that contributed to the company's successful IPO in 2013.123 Additionally, he has co-founded eHit.com, an online video rental service, and held senior engineering roles at Velosel and Ebrary.1

Shi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego. He is also noted for his contributions to cybersecurity through numerous patents and advisory roles with emerging technology companies.12 Outside of his professional life, Fleming resides in the Santa Cruz Forest of California with his three daughters and enjoys cars, golf, and supporting the San Francisco 49ers.1
