Kim began her career as a software engineer and consultant at Bluefire Systems, Inc before moving onto Locationlabs (formerly Wavemarket) as the Director of Business Development, APAC and Senior Engineer. Kim also worked at Global Tech Hedge Fund as the Vice President and Senior Analyst, Asia Technician Investments, and 360IP as Vice President, Venture Investments. Before joining Columbia Threadneedle Investments as Senior Portfolio Manager, Emerging Markets, Kim worked as Senior VP, Asia Equity Investments at Marathon Asset Management.
