Kevin Owocki
Kevin Owocki is an accomplished entrepreneur and software developer based in Boulder, Colorado, whose work has been featured in well-known publications such as TechCrunch, CNN, and Forbes. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Delaware and has worked in leadership positions at several startups, including StepOut, Simple Energy, and Occipital.
At StepOut, Kevin built a team of 9 people and oversaw the development of the company's web and mobile products. At Simple Energy, he led a team of 24 people and was responsible for overseeing the rewriting of core platforms and the delivery of numerous new features for the company's utility customers. In his role at Occipital, he was a top speed chess player at the office in addition to contributing to Python, Django, and data warehouse tasks.
Kevin was also involved in building out Gitcoin, the world's largest Ethereum-based network for incentivizing open-source contributions, and currently runs web3event.co, an events company focused on the web 3.0 space.
His technical skills include proficiency in MySQL, PostGres, PHP, Redis, jQuery, Python, and Django, as well as knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, Photoshop, Ubuntu, CentOS, Solidity, and Pentaho Kettle. He also has experience with Node.js, Rails, iOS, Java, C++, Lisp, homebrew, VMware, AJAX, MVC, SEO, RESTful APIs, system administration, database administration, and dimensional modeling.
