Richard Whalley is a chemist-turned-entrepreneur with a focus on diabetes care. He is the Co-Founder and President of Common Sensing, a company that develops an IoT platform for disposable injector pens called Gocap. This platform provides crucial support for people using insulin and their care providers by enabling automated Rx adjustments, education, and supply delivery.

Whalley received his B.Sc. degree in Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he also worked as an Undergraduate Researcher in the Department of Chemistry, Ting Group. He then went on to complete internships at Biogen Idec, where he worked in both Neurobiology and Medicinal Chemistry.

His career in entrepreneurship began with a fellowship at the Startup Leadership Program and an Associate position at CBT Advisors. He then founded Common Sensing, where he served as the CEO before transitioning to his current role as President. Whalley is also a former Visiting Scientist at the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT.
