David Kirk
David Kirk is a highly experienced Tax Partner and National Tax Department leader at Ernst & Young (EY) in Washington, DC. With a career primarily focused on the taxation of individuals, trusts, S corporations, and partnerships and financial planning for high-net-worth family groups, he has extensive expertise in the industry. David is a former attorney in the Passthroughs and Special Industries division of the Office of Chief Counsel, Internal Revenue Service. Additionally, he was a principal author of the income tax regulations under Section 1411 of the Internal Revenue Code (Net Investment Income Tax) and Revenue Procedure 2013-30 (Uniform Late S Corporation Election Relief). On top of being the author of the Bloomberg-BNA Tax Management Portfolio on the Section 1411 tax, he holds an LLM in Tax from Georgetown University Law Center, a JD in Law from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, and a BS in Accounting from Syracuse University.
David is also a former Adjunct Professor of Tax Law at Georgetown University Law Center and has significant experience working with various leading organizations. He has previously held positions as Executive Director (Private Client Services, Nat'l Tax) and National Tax Partner, EY Private, senior positions also held by him at Deloitte Tax LLP.
