John Steele
John Steele is a highly accomplished cellular and molecular biologist with extensive expertise in CRISPR-based genome editing, stem cell and iPSC biology, mitochondria function, rare diseases, and drug discovery. Steele earned a PhD in Neuroscience at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and a BA in Psychology and Neuroscience from Kenyon College. Prior to his role as Principal Scientist - Cell Biologist at Takeda, Steele held various positions, including Assistant Professor of Biology at Humboldt State University, Postdoctoral Fellow at Amicus Therapeutics, and Co-founder and VP of Neuroscience R&D at OrPhi Therapeutics.
Steele's remarkable dedication has won him various positions, including Genetics/STEM Education Fellow at New York Academy of Sciences, PhD Neuroscience at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, as well as various academic and research roles at institutions such as Rockefeller University, Harvard University, and the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education of the City College of New York.
